Serrated flint blade

Today’s star find: a serrated flint blade from inside the henge

On site: Keith Fitzpatrick-Matthews (afternoon only), Caoimhín Ó Coileáin, Arlene Walker, Eden Walker, Ashley Tierney, Bernie Matthews, David Croft, Emily Abrehart, Frankie Saxton, Jan Turner, Sean Willis, Janice Willis, Kit Carstairs, Laura Slack, Liz Hart, Norman Norrington, Rebecca Harrison, Steve Warner, Tony Driscoll, Ursula Scott, John Stanford, Ivor Davies, Miriam Fraser, James Fish, Izzy Gray

Weather: overcast, hot and humid with occasional sunny spell

Today’s discoveries include the first Roman coin (another fourth-century (Valentinianic?) type) from the colluvium in the sondage, (21). The cleaning of the henge also produced a very nice serrated blade. Because I didn’t arrive until lunchtime, I haven’t written much: I hope to be able to catch up tomorrow.
